Melbourne Wine Tasting

When it comes to wines, Melbourne is a glass filled to the very top! Within close proximity to the city are five different wine regions, all offering a distinct local flavour.
The quality of wine is amazing, and the abundance of different aromas will have you drawn to this area over and over again.
The top regions for wine include the Yarra Valley, known for rustic architecture and fantastic Sauvignon Blanc. The Mornington Peninsula fetures pinot noir and chardonnay, as weill as lighter pinot grigio. Geelong closely resembles the climate and rich soils found in Burgundy. Try Dinny Goonan Family Estate for award winning riesling, semillion and sparkling wines.
Located closer to Melbourne than the other regions, Sunbury is the ideal spot to pop down to for a leisurely lunch or overnight stay. A renowned Shiraz district, there is plenty to choose from here.
Lastly, the Macedon Ranges is the area to visit if you have a hankering for some chardonnay or pinot noir.
Wine House was originally designed to house old and rare wines. While it specializes in old and rare Australian wine from wineries and private collectors; it has also been expanded to include a brasserie and function room.
The restaurant sets a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. Customers can enjoy simple bar snacks or dine a-la-carte, complimenting their meal from the standard wine list of over 100 wines (with over 20 by the glass) or they can request over 2000 Old & Rare Wines available from its bottleshop.
